in case you blinked and missed the entire season of the new american gladiators, let me just say, you missed out. you're not alone though - even nbc isn't really paying attention to this show any more. looks like they stopped bothering to update the AG website after the fifth episode. i wanted to pepper my post with awesome episode shots from the finale, but they aren't even half-way there yet! this is why i need tivo.

since you didn't really care about the show in the first place, you won't mind if i spoil the ending for you. the crazy-jesse-spano-caffeine-speed-freak dude won, and really the only way he was going to lose was if he got his kneecap powerballed, but he was just way too spry to let that happen. he did the eliminator in 1:19 - i think it takes me that long to get from my klik klak to my fridge.

and then some lady with snuffleupagus lashes won, but both ladies were kind of lackluster and not very entertaining. i want some personality with my travelator.

on a very sad note, i learned while stumbling for gladiator tidbits that the original, and much more awesome, siren, passed away recently. she really was my favorite gladiator back in the day. i always liked that the crowd would stomp and wave instead of clapping for her. does anyone else find it odd that this wasn't splashed around in the news? i mean, i watch a lot of today show, and this wasn't even mentioned! i'm guessing her family appreciates the privacy, but the least the AG could do would be to dedicate an episode to her or something. also, one more reason the the new, much lamer, siren should relinquish her name.
